I love you ‘cause you’re yellow, I love you ‘cause you’re bright, and in the middle of you there’s a trumpet shaped delight.
I love the way you spring up and stand so proud and tall, and even though you’re common you don’t seem to care at all.
You remind me of the sunshine and your fragrance warms the cold, and when you’re all together you’re a bouncing sea of gold.
I love you ‘cause you’re cheeky and will defy a frosty day, but most of all ‘cause when you’re here spring must be on the way! (surely?!)
I’ve been waiting for something very wise, interesting and profound to say to open my blog so there we have it! Seriously I do love daffodils because they are so unashamedly cheerful. Today was one of those days where their yellow literally glowed out from the backdrop of bright green turf and thick clusters of pink blossom branched out across the blue blue sky (empty of aeroplane scars thanks to a giant volcanic cloud over Europe!) Days like to today stir up some hope inside for the possibility of a summer, for life to sprout up again after the bleakness of winter. They make me happy. So, that’s one way to start a blog I guess!
